Seeing the dentist when your child is young is an important step in starting a life-long habit of practicing good oral hygiene. Our team is focused on making visits fun, we're parents too and want to help your kids enjoy coming to the dentist.
When Should My Child Have Their First Dental Visit?
As long as your child is not having any problems we recommend a first visit around the age of three. Some kids are comfortable from the first look in their mouth and others take a little more time warming up, that's okay, we take our time and tailor visits to each child's needs.
What Is a Child’s Dental Exam Like?
If it’s your child’s first dental exam, he or she will probably sit on your lap while you sit in the chair. Dr. Thomas will check your child’s teeth and see if you have questions about oral care, thumb sucking, pacifier use or teething. The hygienist will also show you how to clean your child’s teeth.
