This helps us identify occlusal, interproximal, and recurrent decay and cracks. The DEXIS CariVuTM hugs the tooth and bathes it in safe, near-infrared light that makes enamel appear transparent. Porous lesions, such as those caused by decay or cracking, trap and absorb the light so they appear as dark areas. This unique decay detector enables us to see through the tooth, exposing its structure and the actual structure of any decay with very high accuracy. Dr. Thomas can then determine the best available course of action and present you with treatment options so we can improve your oral health.
